"A Resting Place" - Canada geese

from $55.00

This original was a project that consumed my painting time for an entire year. It was big and complex and my “tour de force”. At the time, around 1990, Canada geese were endangered. They have since recovered completely. Canada geese form devoted monogamous pairs and extended families. Grandparents help raise the youngsters and that’s why you so often see groups - not just pairs. They are handsome birds! The foliage and root work is done in black colored pencil and entirely from my head. I knew how I wanted the main roots to flow but couldn’t find a match along any river so had to just wing it!

Archival giclee signed and numbered limited edition (500) from a gouache and pencil original.
